About Cedar Vision Hub

Cedar Vision Hub launched in the spring of 2021, during a period when the volume of international news was overwhelming but the coverage of its practical consequences felt thin. The founding idea was straightforward: take the stories that major publications were reporting and write focused summaries that answered the question most readers actually have, which is not 'what happened?' but 'what does this change for me?' The site is run from Tokyo, and the editorial perspective reflects that position. Attentive to Asia-Pacific developments without ignoring what is happening in Europe, the Americas, or Africa.

Cedar Vision Hub is an independent editorial project based in Tokyo.

How Cedar Vision Hub works

We select stories published within the previous two weeks that we judge to have genuine relevance to daily life. Selection is based on the scale of the change a story describes, the quality of the original reporting, and whether the story fits one of our five rubrics. We do not cover every major headline; we cover the ones where we can write something useful about practical consequences.

The text on each story page is our own write-up. We read the source material, we write a summary in our own words, and we link to the original publisher's page so readers can read the full report. The underlying reporting, the interviews, the data, and the editorial judgement behind the original story belong entirely to the publication that produced it. We make no claim to that work.

If you are a publisher and believe our summary misrepresents your reporting, or if you would like a story removed from our site, please write to us at info@cedarvisionhub.com. Include the URL of the story on our site and a brief description of the issue. We will review the request and respond within two business days.

Readers who spot a factual error in our own summary text. Not in the original reporting. Can also write to the same address. We correct errors with a visible note on the story page rather than silently editing the text.

Cedar Vision Hub editors select stories based on geographic and topical range, relevance to daily life, and newsworthiness across its five rubrics. No single region, source, or viewpoint is given consistent priority.
